Swimming, Boating, Mountains and Hiking! 

We are conveniently situated between Acadia National Park and Baxter State Park. But you don't have to go far to get some great adventuring in. You can hop onto the AT within15 minutes drive, or you can walk the trails around Dover Foxcroft. Take a boat ride or ice-skate at the arena. 

The Northwoods Compound is conveniently situated between Acadia National Park and Baxter State Park. Our guests can easily take advantage of both extrordinary experiences during their visit. Both an easy 90 minute drive. I’m also providing a list of other suggestions to research. If you want to hike, there’s all kinds of that nearby. There is antiquing in this region. In town we have Raven’s Attic. Monson is an artist colony, so you’ll find a few nice gems there. On the following page is a listing of a waterfall hikes as well. Some of these listings are seasonal. When you look them up you should find dates and schedules.
